Get precise feedback in seconds, with half the clicks and zero login walls
✅ Set up review links faster
✅ Review your videos where you store them
✅ Get feedback from anyone with the link—whether they have an account or not
Earlier this year, we spoke to more than 150 Vimeo users, and one thing was clear:
Getting feedback on videos was much harder than it needed to be.
Review links took too long to set up, clients were hitting login walls, and comments weren’t precise.
So we rebuilt Vimeo Review to address those issues directly—transforming video feedback from complex and click-heavy, to simple, seamless and straightforward.
Here are 7 ways we’ve made video reviews easier than ever—for you and your clients.
1. People without a Vimeo account can leave feedback
You no longer need an account to access or comment on a review link. So reviewers who aren't on Vimeo can easily give you feedback on your work—without hitting a login wall.
2. All comments now have timestamps
All comments on a review link now have a timestamp, so every note lands at the exact moment it’s referring to. No need to sift through generic comments to figure out what they mean—when you sit down to make changes, you know exactly where to look.
3. Review links take seconds to set up
Previously, you had to go through the precise settings every time you made a review link, which made it slow to create multiple links. Now, you can save your settings as a default with one click and skip the setup next time.
4. Your other videos don’t show up at the end of a review link
By default, reviewers no longer see suggested videos in the end cards of a review link—just the video you shared and nothing else. This means review links are a watertight way to share a video draft, with no accidental leaks of other videos.
5. Comments load faster
When comments don’t load in time, it’s not only frustrating, but you can miss crucial feedback. To solve this, we fixed several bugs on the review page to speed up the load time on comments—so you can scroll through feedback seamlessly in real time.
6. Comments have clickable links (and emoji reactions)
We also added clickable links to comments, so you can jump to any references, without the hassle of copy and pasting the URL. You can also react to comments with an emoji, so you can give a quick acknowledgement without typing a full reply.
7. It takes fewer clicks to reach a review link
In our old user interface, review links had become too tricky to get to—with a lot of clicks to find and open the right link. So we massively simplified the review link flow, with shortcuts to copy a review link, or jump straight to a review page.
To use the new Vimeo reviews, simply open the ••• menu on any video, and click Review link.
With no login wall, faster reviews and precise comments, we hope these changes help remove the friction from video feedback—for you, and your clients.
However, the new review experience is just one of many things we’ve been working on.
